Take Another Look

“Look!”  Nebuchadnezzar shouted.  “I see four men, unbound, walking around in the fire unharmed!  And the fourth looks like a god!” (Daniel 3:25, NLT)

Sometimes, we get anxious to seize the destiny God has promised us.  In our haste to move forward, we unintentionally place a haze over our current fortune.  In other words, we fail to see God’s presence in our current predicament.  If we take another look at where we are, we will realize that God has been involved in our most intense predicaments.

In Daniel 3, King Nebuchadnezzar illustrates this beautifully.  The first time he looked into the furnace where he had Shadrach, Meshach, and Abednego thrown, all he saw was the three men.  The second time he looked (Daniel 3:25), he saw four men in the fire unharmed and the fourth looked like a god.  The second look helped him see the situation differently and detect divine presence.

So, what does this mean for you?  I believe you can have the same realization King Nebuchadnezzar had.  Perhaps you’ve only seen your current circumstance as dismal and pathetic.  Take another look, and you will notice His divine presence in the midst of what you’ve experienced.  God’s providence and presence have enabled you to endure where you are.  Now, it won’t be long before He takes you where you’re going.  Take another look, and behold His impact on where you are!
