Executive Orders

Since there was no one greater to swear by, God took an oath in his own name, saying: “I will certainly bless you, and I will multiply your descendants beyond number” (Hebrews 6:13-14, NLT).

By now, I’m sure you’ve heard the alarm and criticism related to President Trump’s travel ban.  Some people were enraged because the ban was introduced via Executive Order.  President Trump essentially implemented a decision without involving the legislative or judicial branches of our government.  More plainly, he implemented change without “checking in” with anyone else.

While reading my Bible, I noticed that Executive Orders aren’t novel.  God has been implementing them for quite some time.  Check out Hebrews 6:13-14 for an example.  The writer notes that God decided to bless Abraham without counsel from anyone else.  He thought it was a good idea, and He implemented His decision.

For the record, Executive Orders have the full force of law.  For you, that’s good news.  It means that when God decides to bless you, His decision is legally binding.  And, while Congress can pass legislation to invalidate an Executive Order, no one can reverse God’s decision to bless you!

How would you be different if you knew all of the promises in the Bible are Executive Orders?  If you’re like me, you’ll be extremely positive and at peace.  God’s promises are His Executive Orders for you!  Embrace them, and enjoy the abundant life He intends for you!
