ANOTHER CHANCE TO PRODUCE

In my last blog post, I wrote about pulling out that big idea you’ve had for quite some time. That post was more than a motivating message. It was a mandate. Now, you have another chance to produce it.

My friend, opportunities of a lifetime must be seized within the lifetime of the opportunity. God wants you to know that the lifetime for this opportunity is expiring. Now is your chance to apply the energy and effort needed to make it happen. You have another chance to produce it.

In Luke 13, Jesus shared a parable that stresses the importance of timing and opportunity. Notice how He concludes the parable:

The gardener answered, “Sir, give it one more chance. Leave it another year, and I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer. If we get figs next year, fine. If not, then you can cut it down” (Luke 13:8 – 9, NLT).

Here are a few observations from this parable:

  1. God is concerned. In Luke 13:7, the owner of the unproductive tree said, “I’ve waited three years, and there hasn’t been a single fig” (NLT). The owner knew about how long it should have taken for the tree to produce. Likewise, God knows how long it should take to make it reality. He is alert and active, always watching over His word to perform it in the lifetime of the opportunity.
  2. God is committed. After hearing the owner’s dissatisfaction, the gardener said, “I’ll give it special attention and plenty of fertilizer” (Luke 13:8, NLT). As this gardener was committed to the unproductive tree, so is God. COVID-19 is God’s way of giving you special attention and fertilizer. He is removing all of your distractions, so you can focus on your idea.
  3. You must create. Both the owner and gardener had the same expectation: figs. God is expecting something from you. Now, you must apply the energy and effort to bear fruit. Work hard. Work smart. With God on your side, it will happen.

My friend, you have another chance to produce. Move confidently in the direction He leads!
