PRACTICE IS IN SESSION

Friends,

If the conversation that began on the last episode of our podcast is an indicator, then God’s top choice for completing His plan is clear. Brace yourself …

It’s definitely you!

During the podcast, I mentioned that you rank high on God’s list because of the purpose for which He created you. It’s exciting to know that God has a playbook and sees you as part of the talent that will make it work.

What’s even more exciting is the subject of this blog post.

You have already been practicing what you will perform in your purpose.

Read that again slowly, especially if you tend to shrink at the thought of God using you in anything important.

You have already been practicing what will be required of you on God’s team. The following passage reveals why I’m so confident about this:

When he finished speaking, he said to Simon, “Push the boat out further to the deep water, and you and your partners let down your nets for a catch.”

“Master,” Simon answered, “we worked hard all night long and caught nothing. But if you say so, I will let down the nets.”

They let them down and caught such a large number of fish that the nets were about to break (Luke 5:4-6, GNT).

In these verses, Lord Jesus targeted a group of fishermen. They had experience catching things.

Now, notice what He invites them to later on:

He (Simon) and the others with him were all amazed at the large number of fish they had caught. The same was true of Simon’s partners, James and John, the sons of Zebedee. Jesus said to Simon, “Don’t be afraid; from now on you will be catching people” (Luke 5:9-10, GNT).

Essentially, Lord Jesus invited people who were skilled at catching things to join Him in catching things. Get it now? Your purpose often aligns with things you already do well. Purpose opens your eyes to the bigger reason why you have skill in certain areas.

That brings me to some actionable steps:

  1. Think about what you’re practicing. The people mentioned in the verses included above had been practicing fishing, and later, they were invited to join Lord Jesus’ fishing franchise. Take time to investigate what you’re practicing. What are you doing repeatedly, with skill? For varying audiences? In different settings? The answer to these questions may be the ground level version of an aerial view God has for how you fit into His plans.
  2. Trust God for progression. Something worth noting in the verses included above is that the fishermen had much greater success when God, in the form of Lord Jesus, was involved. The same is true for you. Right now, your “practices” may be hit or miss, especially if the skill or gift you practicing isn’t surrendered to God. Yet, when you give it to Him, like Simon did with his boat and net, the possibilities are endless. That’s you’re incentive to trust God to take your skill to the next level.

Friends, if you really think about what you’re practicing and trust God for progression, you will be a phenomenal addition to His team. You’re the top choice to advance His plans this year!

I’ll be back with another post soon. In the meantime, if you want to talk further about what you’re practicing, reach out to me at info@induranceministries.com. Let’s have a deeper dialogue about the practice reps you’re getting and how God can help you make progress in your purpose.
