LOOK TO HIM

Hey friends!

Just a friendly reminder: it’s totally okay to be imperfect. Especially when you’re working with God, because He’s the opposite of you, plus a whole lot more.

Even though this might be old news, it’s still easy to focus on our flaws. Just talk to someone, ask them what they’re good at, and you’ll see what I mean. People often start talking about their weaknesses like they don’t have anything to be proud of. And it’s not just a little bit of self-pity. It’s a habit that needs to be changed.

This blog post is a wake-up call for those who dwell on their imperfections too much. In other words, your flaws are like brakes that slow you down from reaching your full potential. While it’s common to do this, it doesn’t have to complicate your journey towards greatness. You just need to shift your focus away from yourself and towards God.

This is the same advice given in these verses:

The message is clear. Instead of focusing on our flaws, which are everything that gets in the way and sin that holds us back, we keep our eyes on Lord Jesus. And what should we be looking at while focusing on Him? I’m glad you asked.

  1. His strengths. Instead of dwelling on our weaknesses, let’s focus on His strengths. That is, wherever we’re weak, He does something well. If you’re impulsive, He’s patient. If you’re confused, He’s wise. The Bible is full of examples of how Jesus handled situations, and you can learn from them to overcome your challenges.
  2. His successes. One of my favorite things to say about Jesus is that He’s not just our sacrifice for sin. He’s our model. He’s our example in everything. When you look at how He handled the situations you’re facing, you’ll see what He can offer you as you work with Him where He wants to work. You’ll also have a guide for handling the situations and getting the same results as He did.

Hey friends, when you gaze upon Lord Jesus instead of dwelling on your flaws, don’t do so mindlessly. Instead, focus on His incredible strengths and celebrate the amazing partner you have in Him. Take a moment to reflect on His successes and acknowledge the incredible things He has accomplished. Remember, you can also achieve great things with Him by your side. As you come to realize how extraordinary Lord Jesus is, your focus will naturally shift away from your imperfections.
