BUT WHERE?

Knowing God has a plan tends to be the easier part of relationship with Him.  Knowing where God wants you to implement His plan … that’s an entirely different conversation.

We’re easing into the season to advance, which I discussed in detail in the latest episode of our podcast. It’s a time to move God’s agenda forward.  While that may sound inspiring, the question still lingers.  But where?

As always, I look to the Bible for wisdom, particularly from the life of Lord Jesus.  In this particular case, the following verses came to mind:

So he traveled all over Galilee, preaching in the synagogues and driving out demons. A man suffering from a dreaded skin disease came to Jesus, knelt down, and begged him for help. “If you want to,” he said, “you can make me clean.” Jesus was filled with pity, and reached out and touched him. “I do want to,” he answered. “Be clean!” At once the disease left the man, and he was clean (Mark 1:39-42, GNT).

Let’s unpack these verses to discover some clues that may reveal just where God wants us to move His agenda forward:

  1. His Heart: Notice what the verses share about Lord Jesus before He responded to the man with leprosy, “Jesus was filled with pity” (Mark 1:41, GNT).  In other words, the good old “heart strings” led Lord Jesus to partner with God and advance His agenda for healing onto the man with leprosy.
  1. His Hands: Compassion initiated the response, but competence secured the result.  After Lord Jesus felt pity and sympathy, He “reached out and touched him” (Mark 1:41, GNT).  Power flowed from God, through Lord Jesus’ hands, and onto the man with leprosy until He received healing.

Since Lord Jesus is our pattern, then we can follow His example to discover where God, the Father, wants us to focus our attention and advance His agenda.  Prayerfully consider the questions included below.

  1. Your Heart: What moves you to pity or sympathy?  What breaks your heart when you observe it?  The sentiments of your heart may be the very area where God, the Father, is already working and wants you to join Him.
  1. Your Hands: What do you do exceptionally well and unlike anyone else?  Where do you feel power flowing from God, through you, and onto others?  Those gifts may be the conduit through which God wants to advance His agenda in partnership with you.

But where?

God wants you to advance His agenda in the places that stir your heart and activate your hands.  This is an appointed time to move forward with God until His glory fills the Earth.
