The Cure for Inadequacy

“When the LORD spoke to Moses in the land of Egypt, he said to him, “I am the Lord!  Tell Pharaoh, the king of Egypt, everything I am telling you.”  But Moses argued with the LORD, saying, “I can’t do it!  I’m such a clumsy speaker!  Why should Pharaoh listen to me?” (Exodus 6:28-30, NLT)

When God calls us to greatness, it’s easy to feel inadequate.  Given enough time, most people can come up with reasons why God should choose someone else.  We’ll cite reasons like lack of experience, skills, or resources to prove our point.  Moses was no different, and according to Exodus 6:30, he had reasons to justify his feelings of inadequacy.

When we feel inadequate, it’s time o shift our focus.  Here are a few reminders about God to help cure your feelings of inadequacy:

HE’S OMNIPOTENT: God can do anything.  God can do everything.  He has all power, and everything He does will be successful.  If He chooses to do something through you, you’re guaranteed success!

HE’S OMNISCIENT: God knows everything, including you.  He knows your experience, skills, and resources very well, yet He still chooses to solicit your involvement in His affairs.  That must mean He also knows something we’ll eventually realize – our potential for greatness!

HE’S OMNIPRESENT: God can be everywhere at the same time.  That includes by your side.  If He opens a door, He’ll walk with you through it.  He’ll never ask you to do anything without also accompanying you until the end of the journey!

Don’t let feelings of inadequacy hinder your acceptance of God’s invitation to greatness.  Whatever you lack, He has it!  Why not join Him in changing the world.  He is the cure for your inadequacies!
