Who knows if perhaps you were made queen for just such a time as this? (Esther 4:14, NLT)

Have you ever been astonished by an opportunity?  Contrarily, have you ever been so frustrated by an opportunity that you wondered why you were chosen?  I understand both extremes.  I’ve also learned that in both circumstances, no matter how exhilarating or excruciating they may seem, it’s important to remember that the opportunity is bigger than you.

In Esther 4:14, Mordecai relays this message to Esther.  She recently rose from rags to riches, progressing from obscurity to notoriety as the Queen.  Yet, Mordecai, who raised Esther, made sure she remained grounded.  He let her know that the opportunity was greater than her receiving glory as the Queen.  This opportunity was strategically designed for her to make a difference for many!

I’m writing to share Mordecai’s sentiments with you.  Your current opportunity is more than a chance for you to showcase your gifting.  It’s a chance to be a blessing to someone else.  No matter how exciting or deflating your opportunity has been, you are there to make a difference.  It’s bigger than you!
